At 4:15 p.m. on July 12, 2020, an employee, a Master Craftsman Glassblower, was beginning to shape a glass creation by blowing into the implement. The employee and his apprentice were attempting a new technique that involved denatured alcoh ol. As the apprentice was spraying the alcohol, it ignited and a gust of wind bl ew the alcohol and fire onto the employee. The employee's undershirt, head scarf , hair, and beard caught fire. The employee was hospitalized to treat burns to h is face, neck, head and lungs.
