At 3:00 p.m. on November 15, 2018, an employee was operating the plate saw, cutting a piece of aluminum that was 4 feet by 8 feet and approximately 4 inches thick. The plate saw was in automatic mode cutting the aluminum plate and moving the cut sections onto the saw table. The employee was picking up each cut section of aluminum plate and transferring it to an adjacent table. The employee was waiting for the next plate to move in his direction, when his hand was caught between two sections of aluminum plate. The employee's right hand was caught and he suffered an avulsion to his right middle finger, a fracture to the right middle finger, and a laceration to the right middle finger.
