At 1:15 p.m. on April 18, 2019, an employee was using a battery operated plastic banding tool (Gerrard P320) to secure a mag cylinder to a wooden pallet on the floor. The employee was tightening a plastic band on a mag cylinder case (43 by 11 inches) using a battery operated plastic banding tool (Gerrard P320). The em ployee placed his fingers between the band and the channel on the case aligning bands with the channel. Upon activating the banding tool, the band tightened cru shing the employee's fingers between the band and the mag cylinder case channel. The employee sustained an amputation of the left ring finger tip to the first k nuckle. The employee was hospitalized for treatment.
