At 11:55 a.m. on December 6, 2018, an employee was the internal operator in a co nfined space/tunnel. The coworker was in the tunnel area monitoring the 6-inch hydraulic de-watering pump used to prevent water and small debris build-up durin g a sewer cleaning operation. The coworker notice rags that were building up at the bottom of the pump. The employee attempted to remove rags that were buildin g up at the base of the pump that resulted in the partial amputation of the 3rd and 4th fingers after being hospitalized.
