At 9:15 a.m. on February 21, 2019, an employee was using an under the hook hoist system to move a four ton propeller from a press to a storage stand. After the propeller was moved from the straightening press to a floor stand, the employee worked to position the propeller for placement on the storage stand. The propell er was lowered onto the top of the stand and the hoist system chain slacked. How ever, the propeller would not sit flush on the stand. Both the employee, with t he help of a coworker, determined that a different stand was needed. As the cow orker went to retrieve a different stand, he heard a crash and observed the empl oyee backing up from where the propeller was. The propeller had fallen, injuring the employee's foot, requiring hospitalization.
