At 4:45 p.m. on August 17, 2018, Employee #1, a painter, was painting the inside of a residential living room area. The employee placed a drop cloth on the floor, set up his 24 foot extension ladder on top of the drop cloth, and proceeded to ascend the ladder. The employee climbed to the top portion of his ladder to cut in the ceiling area, which was approximately 20 feet in height. As the employee began painting, the ladder slipped out from underneath him, causing him to fall the entire distance to the wood flooring below. Employee #1 sustained fractures to both wrists and his nose. He was hospitalized for his injuries.
