At 6:45 a.m. on May 29, 2018, Employee #1 was operating a VMC #40 model CNC mach ine identified as Mill #8. The employee was setting up a part in the machine usi ng a clamped vice fixture. He accidentally closed the vice on his left thumb, w hile he was manually tightening the vice with his right hand, causing a fracture to his left thumb. Surgery was performed to repair the damage and he was hospit alized overnight.
