At 1:10 a.m. on August 8, 2018, an employee and coworker were pouring concrete into an 8 foot by 20 foot box cover using a bucket that was connected to an overhead crane. The employee tried to pull on a cord that was used for a vibrator but it was stuck on the edge of the mold and his hand became entangled with the cord. The employee's hand was pulled towards the bottom of the bucket and was stuck in the gate, fracturing his middle and ring fingers along with his pinky. The employee was taken to a clinic and transferred to Kaiser hospital for surgery.
