At 3:00 p.m. on June 9, 2018, Employee #1 and coworkers, employed by a construction company, were remodeling a fast food facility. Employee #1 was operating a DEWALT Model DCS 575 battery operated cordless portable power saw to cut a piece of plywood sheet when the saw jammed and kicked back, striking the employee's right hand and amputating three fingers. Emergency services transported Employee #1 to the hospital, where he was admitted and treated, including surgery, for the amputation injuries.
