At 12:15 a.m. on March 26, 2018, an employee and coworker were fighting a building fire. While doing so, the employee felt heat on his body but continued to fight the fire until he stumbled out to the pump. The employee suffered second degree heat burns to his body as well as to his face from a damaged SCBA face piece. The employee was brought to the Atlantic City Medical Center where emergency personnel were concerned about lung expansion and infection. The employee was hospitalized.
