At 3:00 p.m. on March 7, 2018, two female employees were working for a firm that manufactured storage batteries. Employees #1 and #2 were, in different instance s, inspecting material and equipment as batteries were being compressed together . The compressing equipment was known as the MMAMC 2.0 "Picture Frame" cylinder. The employees were leaning on a picture frame as the cylinders were being compr essed. They inserted their fingers into an unguarded hole which housed a cylinde r that moved laterally past this hole. Employee #1 sustained the laceration of h er middle finger. Employee #2 sustained the amputation of her ring finger at the first knuckle. One employee was hospitalized, and the other employee was not ho spitalized.
