At 9:00 p.m. on October 17, 2017, an employee working in a retail grocery store was cutting meat with a band saw. The employee's left ring finger contacted the running blade and his finger was amputated. The blade guard on the Hobart meat cutting band saw was not positioned as close as possible to the table.
