At 4:30 p.m. on March 16, 2018, Employee #1, employed by a highway construction company, was installing roadside railings. A private vehicle, a 2010 Nissan sedan, that was travelling on the highway swerved onto the left shoulder closure, first striking Employee #1 and then striking a pounder truck. Employee #1 was transported to the hospital, where he was admitted and treated for fractures to both legs.
