At 2:00 p.m. on February 7, 2018, Employee #1, a journeyman electrician employed by an electrical services company, was working at a multiemployer construction project, a commercial building being remodeled. He was operating a portable Milwaukee Bandsaw, Catalog Number 2729-20, to make an angled cut to a unistrut pipe and reduce the pipe's length from 9 inches to 4 inches. As he cut, the bandsaw blade bound up, causing the unistrut to roll and the blade to come into contact with and amputate Employee #1's left index finger. Employee #1's foreman transported him to the hospital, where his finger was reattached. Employee #1 was released without hospitalization.
