At 8:00 a.m. on December 18, 2017, Employee #1, employed by a heating and air conditioning contractor, was preparing for the installation of an air conditioning unit in a two-story building. He was on the second floor and moving materials and trash when he stepped into a floor opening, the access/egress point between the building's floors. Employee #1 fell, a fall height of 4.8 feet. He was able to prevent falling further when his leg caught on the top of a door and he grabbed onto a permanent ladder. Employee #1 sustained contusions to his leg that did not require hospitalization.
