29 CFR 1917.50(i)(2): Cargo handling gear provided by the employer with a safe working load greater than 5 short tons did not have its safe working load plainly marked on it. (a) Port of Detroit Terminal, employees were exposed to being struck-by cargo that was being unloaded from the vessel FEDERAL SHIMANTO with the Manitowoc crane, model 4100-W, serial number 41312. The load block, spreader bar, and a total of seven wire slings and associated hooks and shackles were not marked with the safe working load. (b) Port of Detroit Terminal, employees were exposed to being struck-by cargo that was being unloaded from the vessel FEDERAL SHIMANTO with the Manitowoc crane, model 4100-W, serial number 41543. The load block, spreader bar, box spreader, and a total of four wire slings and associated hooks and shackles were not marked with the safe working load.
