Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004D Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.134(k)(3): Training was not provided prior to requiring employees to use a respirator in the workplace: a) On or about September 19, 2013-Job site at 130-45 180 th Street Jamaica, NY 11434 The employer required the employees to wear respirators and provided 3M 8511 N95 respirators and Wilson Respirator 6000 series, a half face negative pressure respirators. Employees were allowed to choose the respirator to wear based on comfort not protection. Employees were exposed to such chemicals as, but not limited to: Sodium Metasilicate Pentahyhdrate, BTC2125M-80% , Sodium Xylenesulfonate 40%, Lipidase C, Propylene Glycol Industrial Grade, Sodium Nitrate, AP 800S ; sensitizers such as Savinase, and Lipolase. Employer did not provide any training for the proper selection and usage of respirators. WRITTEN ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19.
