Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004C Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.134(f)(1): The employer did not ensure that employee(s) required to use a tight-fitting facepiece respirator passed the appropriate qualitative fit test (QLFT) or quantitative fit test (QNFT): a) On or about September 19, 2013-Job site at 130-45 180 th Street Jamaica, NY 11434 The employer required the employees to wear respirators and provided 3M 8511 N95 respirators and Wilson Respirator 6000 series, a half face negative pressure respirators. Employees were allowed to choose the respirator to wear based on comfort not protection. Employees were exposed to such chemicals as, but not limited to: Sodium Metasilicate Pentahyhdrate, BTC2125M-80% , Sodium Xylenesulfonate 40%, Lipidase C, Propylene Glycol Industrial Grade, Sodium Nitrate, AP 800S ; sensitizers such as Savinase, and Lipolase. Employer provided no fit testing to their employees to ensure the proper levels of protection. WRITTEN ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19.
