OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): 29 CFR Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards while utilizing frayed ropes on a rope descent system supported from an inadequate ancorage point.: Location: 1 Congress Street, Boston MA On 08/28/2013 employees were exposed to fall hazards while using frayed safety lines on their descent system while exposing the employees to falls greater than 70 feet. Also, the ropes being used were exposed to sharp edges on the parapet wall and air condition louvers.
