Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: Vail Resorts, Tower 36, Chair A, 1599C Summit County Road 3, Breckenridge, CO 80424: The employer did not perform connector qualification testing on the work chair anchor connectior to verify that it could sustain a force of 5,000 pounds. This condition exposed employees to a 21' fall hazard. Abatement Note: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow ANSI /ASSE Z359.1-2007 Safety Requirements for Personal Fall Areest Systems, Subsystems and Components, Part of the Fall Protection Code., 4.3.6, Anchorage Connector Qualification Testing. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (see enclosed Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
