Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.501(b)(3): Each employee in a hoist area was not protected from falling 6 feet (1.8 m) or more to lower levels by guardrail systems or personal fall arrest systems: a) On June 18, 2013 and at times prior thereto; front of building, employee using a hoist to bring materials onto the working platform of the scaffold did not have a personal fall arrest system in place to protect him from falling 30 feet to the ground. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
