Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003A Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employees provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): (a) 519 Heritage Road: An employee was exposed to a fall hazard of 13 feet 5 inches (eave to ground height) to the ground below while standing on a shingled roof with a slope of 8:12. The employee was on the roof to install trusses for a front porch overhang. The employee was not utilizing any fall protection measures, as determined on April 11, 2013. (b) 519 Heritage Road: Two employees were exposed to a fall hazard of 15 feet 3 inches to the ground below while sitting on laminated veneer lumber (LVL) beams. The employees were on the LVL beams to install trusses for a front porch overhang. The employees were not utilizing any fall protection measures, as determined on April 11, 2013.
