Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: LIFTING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Employees working in various locations throughout the fab shop; but not limited to this department, only where lifting and/or pushing and/or pulling are required were exposed to body mechanical (musculoskeletal) injuries. A useful method to correct the hazard among other methods, is the periodic comprehensive training and supervision of all exposed employees in body mechanics, manual lifting, and team lifting techniques and in the utilization of lifting and movement assistance devices.
