Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.333(c)(8): Conductive articles of jewelry and clothing (such a watch bands, bracelets, rings, key chains, necklaces, metalized aprons, cloth with conductive thread, or metal headgear) were worn where employees might contact exposed energized parts. a) On 08/25/12, an employee was taking amperage readings on an energized Hastings HVAC 480 V system model number SB-112 while wearing jewelry exposing the employee to electrical hazards. b) On 08/28/12, a supervisor was demonstrating routine procedures for testing an energized Hastings HVAC 480 V system model number SB-112 by powering off the disconnect and then opening the disconnect cover which was energized to 480 V while wearing a metallic necklace exposing the supervisor to electrical hazards.
