Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.50(c): A person who has a valid certificate in first-aid training was not available at the worksite to render first-aid: (a) The employer did not ensure that a qualified person was available on the worksite to render first aid on June 4, 2012 when an employee was severely injured while grinding a rail bar to remove scale with an unguarded portable grinder. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
