Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 004A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.305(b)(1)(ii): Unused openings in boxes, cabinets, or fittings were not effectively closed: Employees were exposed to electrical shock due to unused openings in the electrical breaker panels being left open: a. General Electric breaker panel on the inside wall at the mechanic shop. b. 110 volt electrical outlet junction box at the end of a flexible electrical cord on work table in north end of mechanic shop. c. The Tram-A-Lot baler, was in the process of waiting for a new electrical switch to be installed and the opening where the switch had been located was left open with live open with live electrical conductors present. The Square D Main Disconnect, Number 10 breaker and Number 03 breaker which supplied power to the Tram-A-Lot baler, was energized and was not locked out.
