29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Maintenance shop, on or about 4/26/12: A Hardinge lathe, labeled as 790, was not equipped with a chuck guard to prevent contact of parts with the employee. b) Maintenance shop, on or about 4/26/12: A Hardinge lathe, colored beige, was not equipped with a chuck guard to prevent contact of parts with the employee. c) Maintenance shop, on or about 4/26/12: A DoAll 16 inch lathe was not equipped with a chuck guard to prevent contact of parts with employee. d) Maintenance shop, on or about 4/26/12: A Clausing lathe was not equipped with a chuck guard to prevent contact of parts with employee. e) Maintenance shop, on or about 4/26/12: A Walker Turner drill press was not equipped with a guard to prevent contact between chuck and drill bit. f) Maintenance shop, on or about 4/26/12: A Buffalo drill press was not equipped with a guard to prevent contact between chuck and drill bit. g) Metallurgy department, on or about 4/26/12: Two iso presses were not equipped with guards to protect against contact with the ram.
