Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: STRUCK BY
Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by / caught between hazards. On or about 10/28/2010, at the entrance to Carriage Pointe Apartments 8687 NW 44th Court, Coral Springs, FL, 33065, employees who guide motor vehicles through traffic lanes of a gate were exposed to tripping on a concrete median. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazardous condition would be to paint the curbs yellow as identified by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z53.1 and removing a section, 4 feet in width from the curb to provide a pathway for security guards. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
