Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard: LACKTRAIN
Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a), Annotated Code of Maryland: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:06/29/09 Location:Southwest Side of the Front Yard Condition:A written safety and health program and employee training program were not developed and implemented to protect employees from the hazards associated with tree-trimming and felling. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement to correct this hazard is to create a written safety and health program, related to tree-trimming and felling. This program should help to train each employee in assigned work tasks, safe use, operation, use of tools, recognition of safety and health hazards associated with the employees' tasks. The program should also include recognition, prevention, and control of other safety hazards, procedures, practices, and requirements of each work site. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
