Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment, which was free from recognized hazards that was causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to caught between and crushing hazards: Employees, working to load a John Deere Self-Propelled Agricultural Sprayer (Model number 4930, Serial Number N04930X008178) onto a Trail-Eze lowboy trailer, were exposed to crushing hazards. The employer failed to control or eliminate the likelihood of injury from unexpected movement of the equipment during towing and loading operations. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to follow the manufacturer's emergency towing procedure. The procedure has steps to identify hazards and the necessary tools to control or eliminate the unexpected movement of equipment during towing and loading operations. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).s
