Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that employees were exposed to the hazard of thermal and/or chemical burns from the uncontrolled dicharge of potentially volatile oil and gas. For the employees assisting with operations with the servicing rig on or about August 27th, 2008. A feasible and recognized method to prevent this hazard is to ensure proper well control equipment is on site in the event the well is found to be flowing in accordance with American Petroleum Institute, Recommended Practice; Sec. 6.1.13.
