Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards as to: (a)On or about November 4, 2008 at Mississippi Power Plant Daniel in Moss Point, MS, a scaffold had been erected over 125 feet above the base without using the critical components listed on the prints that were designed by a registered professional engineer. One feasible and useful abatement method to correct this hazard was to follow the prints as designed by a registered professional engineer.
