Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the boom failure of a JLG Aerial Lift. a) Rockland Community College 145 College Road Suffern, New York 10901: Employees were subject to a JLG Model 45 HA aerial lift boom collapse while installing a sign template on the exterior wall of a building. No periodic inspection and test was conducted one to twelve months. This condition existed on or about 8/6/07. One feasible and acceptable method of abatement is to follow the guidance set forth in ANSI A92.5 1992 Section 6.6 "Vehicle-Mounted Elevating and Rotating Aerial Devices" and the" Manual Of Responsibilities" provided by JLG Lifts. NOTE: In addition to abatement certification, the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
