Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by and crushing hazards: On or about 11/20/07, in the inspection area, an employee was exposed to the hazard of being struck or crush by a Freightliner FL70 truck while walking around an unattended vehicle with the engine running. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to follow the instructions outlined in the Freightliner Business Class Trucks Driver's Manual (STI-265(10/03P)). PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
