Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of falls while being elevated on the forks of a powered industrial trucks without any means of fall protection. (a) Location - Establishment: On or about 4/27/2007, employees were elevated on the forks of an industrial truck to enable them to reach computer wires in the warehouse area, without any means of fall protection. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard includes, but is not limited to the following: i) Provide an additional portable ladder for use. ii) Provide a work platform for the industrial truck following the protection outlined in the ASME Standard B56.1- 2000 paragraph 4.17.3 which includes that the platform complies with the design requirements in paragraph 7.36.3. iii) Implement the precautions for using an industrial truck to elevate personnel as outlined in ASME Standard B56.1-2000 paragraph 4.17.2.ph
