Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
SCRR 71-112A: Failed to furnish a place of employment which is free of recognized hazards which may cause death or serious physical harm to his employees and comply with this regulation and other occupational safety and health rules and regulations promulgated under Chapter 15 of Title 41, Code of Laws, State of South Carolina, 1976, as amended, as follows: A. On or about July 20, 2006, employer knew or should have known that tow truck driver working under Ford F-600 truck, South Carolina Tag P280516, to remove drive shaft was exposed to the hazard of being crushed by the wheels of truck, because no wheel chocks installed to prevent unexpected movement. A feasible and useful means of abatement, among others, is to develop a written safety procedure for proper use of wheel chocks, formal training program, and periodic inspections of tow truck driver in the field, and disciplinary actions if unsafe acts were noted on the periodic inspections.
