Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Electrical Shock Hazards a) Worksite located at 9 Roy Street, Dover, NJ Melters removed alloy samples from a molten bath using a ceramic cup at the end of a long metal extension pole. Contact between the electrically charged bath and the pole can create a voltage potential exposing employees to an electrical shock hazard. Violation observed on or about 7/25/05 ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD OF ABATEMENT, AMONG OTHERS, TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS: Install a molten metal leak detector according to section 9-5.6 of the 1985 NFPA 86D, Standard for Industrial Furnaces Using Vacuum as an Atmosphere or in accordance with section 12.5.4.6 of the 2003 NFPA 86, Standard for Ovens and Furnaces. The molten metal leak detector will electrically ground the bath.d
