Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: (a)Grand Lake Log Homes Inc, at 255 County Road 609, Granby, CO: On or about 4/25/06, employees of Grand Lake Log Homes Inc were exposed to fall hazards, in that the employer assembled log cabin homes onsite, using a crane and employees to build up the exterior perimeter of the cabin one log level (round) at a time. Two employees straddled exterior top logs while assisting a crane operator in setting in place additional exterior top logs. Each round of logs was approximately one foot in height. Ten rounds were used to construct the cabin. The cabin was built upon wooden piers, approximately two feet above ground level.
