Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001D Hazard: UNAPEQUIP
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: At the establishment located at 2201 Edmonds, North Little Rock, Arkansas, the corporate safety program was not vigorously enforced to provide compliance with safety and health provisions and standards. Additionally, the employer did not continually instruct employees and management representatives on the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to their work environment in order to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury and ensure that all applicable rules and regulations were followed and enforced by in-house supervisors. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to increase observations of employee and supervisor work practices and correct and discipline employees who do not follow safe work practices. "Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19(d), the employer must provide documentation that this violation has been abated, within ten (10) days after the abatement date."ent
