Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:09/21/04 Location:Second Level, Terminal A/B Condition:Employees worked with crates of glass that were 7 feet 8 inches square and weighed 1,000 kg on "A" frames set at an 86 degree angle and the crates were not secured against falling over. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to secure the crates to the "A" frame with a positive locking device that is adjustable and will prevent displacement of the crates while employees work with them.
