Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: STRUCK BY
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)End of Singleton Road at railroad tracks - On or about 9/20/03, an unauthorized employee was exposed to being struck by a train by not following proper roadway worker protection procedures. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is for the company to utilize their Railroad division when working near railroad property which is specifically trained and authorized to work on railroad property.
