Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: a) At the jobsite, an employee was exposed to the hazard of being struck by a PAK-MOR waste collection vehicle, serial number KDG120/6/1143930004MHSD, in that the employer did not ensure that employees did not ride on the riding platform of the vehicle while the vehicle was operating in reverse. One means of feasible abatement would be to comply with the American National Standards Institute, ANSI Z245.1-1992, American National Standard for Refuse Collection, Processing and Disposal Equipment. Violation observed on or about 05/15/03.
