North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (Ref: American National Standards (ANSI/ASME) A90.1 - 1985, para 7.1(c), (d), (e). a)roof, man lift - On or about 11 January 2002, an employee was allowed to improperly access a man lift while carrying freight (a clipboard) in his hand, which prohibited his grasping of the handhold securely with both hands. One feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to stage necessary working freight, such as clip boards, flash lights and measuring tapes at each working level to avoid improper storage and carrying of these materials by employees onto the man lift. OR IN THE ALTERNATIVE: 29 CFR 1910.68(d)(1): Proper use of man lifts.
