Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: The hazard of electrocution by coming in contact with energized lines. (a) Dock Rd & Montauk Highway. An employee and the aerial lift he was working from were not protected from contacting the 13,200 volts conductor. On or about 08/02/02. Abatement Note* Among other methods,one feasible method to reduce the hazard is to: 1.Ensure that the insulating sleeves and blankets are placed over the energized lines,prior to the start of the work as per the employees safety manual.
