Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to THE HAZARD OF BEING STRUCK-BY THE LOAD : a)321 East Whitesboro St., Rome,N.Y., Truck Maintenance Garage, on or about 3/19/02: Periodic inspections (daily and weekly) for Mohawk model TP- 15, two post vehicle lift were not being done and/or recorded per lift manufacturers recommendations and ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2000. ABATEMENT NOTE: One feasible means of abatement is to ensure that daily and weekly periodic inspections are performed and recorded per manufacturers manual pages 10 and 11, also ANSI/ALI ALOIM - 2000, Chapter 5, Sections 5.1, 5.4, and 5.6.1. Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.
