Section (a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that an employee was exposed to the accidental cycling of a fastening machine because the foot pedal was not guarded to prevent accidental actuation. On or about June 6, 2001, the foot pedal on the Morgan Book Cover machine was not guarded to prevent accidental actuation. CERTIFICATION REQUIRED ON THIS ITEM.
