Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: OTHER
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that there was no way for the employees to be able to determine the amount of water remaining in the water tank. (A)Pocatello Plant: On or about August 13, 2001 and at times prior thereto there was no water level indicator provided on the water tank of the Sterling water truck. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install a gauge, sight tubes or other measuring device on water trucks.
