Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that chemical sensors were not calibrated appropriately: (a)On or about July 18, 2001, the fixed sensors used to detect chlorine were not tested per manufacturers recommendations. (b)On or about July 18, 2001, the hand held sensors used to detect carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, oxygen and chlorine were not calibrated per the manufacturers recommendations.
