North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that a hoist used to lift a door was not inspected, (Para 16-2.1.2, Para 16-2.1.3, ASME B30.16-1993; Section 10-1.3(a), ASME B30.10a-1996): a)Schuler Press-a Budgit pneumatic hoist equipped with a shank hook with latch, used to lift a steel door for employees to access the interior of a Schuler F2-1600, 0- 800 Multi-Station Press, had not been inspected. "ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD, AMONG OTHERS, TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO CONTRACT WITH THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER TO RETURN THE MACHINE TO IT'S ORIGINAL CONDITION.
