Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)Employees at Ace Grease Service, Inc. were exposed to the hazard of being struck by falling loads, such as metal-fabricated grease bins, from an overhead electric hoist. The company did not have this electric hoist inspected on a frequent basis (daily to monthly) and periodic basis (at least every twelve months) to determine wear, deterioration and malfunction as per ASME B30.16-1998. One method of abatement, among others, would be to have this electric hoist inspected on a frequent basis, daily to monthly, and periodic basis (at least every twelve months) as required by ASME B30.16-1998. **ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM.**D
